Project Background: one 'park' – Weston Park, one 'square' - Castlegate Design Object: To analyse and creatively represent the two places the group was given. Team Responsibilities: I was responsible for drawing site sections and small multiples to ensure the presentation of the places' details. Final exhibition showing the cross-section, photo collage, small multiples and individual site explorations.
Exploration board: It explores how to create a sustainable cycle for ecology, community, and economy. Landscape features act as a medium, reconnecting people with wildlife and revitalising Castlegate. It's a space that invites exploration, encourages learning about its history, and fosters a sense of community through various markets and gatherings.
Describing the biodiversity about Castlegate: The plant mixtures include plants with a wide range of ecological tolerances, from those that prefer wetter conditions to those that are happy when it's very dry. The schemes are resilient from season to season.
Innovative planting beds in Castlegate: The construction captures and holds onto plastic from car tyres and road wear and other pollutants, preventing them from reaching the watercourses. Improved cycling and walking routes help Sheffield keep fit and clean its air.
