Revisiting the garden my tutor planted during the bluebell season reminded me that landscape is not only designed, but patiently cared for over time.
What I Noticed
Nigel taught me that every landscape continues to evolve long after construction. His lectures were never only about planting design—they were about observing natural succession, documenting seasonal change and understanding how management shapes the future of a place. Looking back, I realise those lessons continue to influence the way I approach every landscape.
Reflection
Returning to sketch flowers in the garden, I realised how easily we overlook small moments in nature. Drawing slows observation. It reveals how leaves unfold, how light reaches petals and how each plant responds differently to its surroundings. These quiet experiences remind me that good landscape design begins with paying attention.
