While hard engineering solutions can provide protection, they are not a permanent, adaptable solution and have physical limits.

This project reconnects fragmented grey infrastructure along the River Sheaf through landscape-led interventions. Using LiDAR analysis, hydrological understanding and detailed construction proposals, it demonstrates how modest interventions can improve ecological performance and everyday experience.

Designed as a restorative roof garden for a mixed-use neighbourhood, this project combines planting design, construction detailing and material specification to create a biodiverse landscape that improves wellbeing while demonstrating buildable technical solutions.
