When Do You Begin to Feel Like a Landscape Architect?

At our graduation exhibition, I had the opportunity to meet Carolin, former President of the Landscape Institute. We spoke about my final project, my journey through the Master's programme and the future of the profession.
A few days later, she sent me a thoughtful email encouraging me to stay connected with the Landscape Institute and to continue creating landscapes that benefit people as much as nature.

Her words stayed with me.
Graduation did not suddenly make me a landscape architect. What changed was recognising that I had become part of a wider professional community—one built on collaboration, generosity and shared responsibility.
That conversation reminded me that learning never ends with a degree.
A career begins when knowledge becomes part of a community.
